Agastya Sen ( English, August ) - the school's 'last Englishman'

Photographs - Tathagata Sarkar.
Special effects - Tathagata Sarkar and Varun Jagadish Sharma

He lied, but he lied so well ...

'Ah. India lives in its villages, a terrible cliché that, but really very true, like all clichés.
Wittgenstein, wasn't it, who said that India lives in its villages ?'

'No, Gandhi.'

"I don’t want challenges or responsibilities. All I want is to be happy"
How true !!

I am going to go home and think ...... I need to think….
I've become your American, taking a year off after college to discover himself

His real ambition was to be a domesticated male stray dog because they lived the best life.
They were assured of food, and because they were stray they didnt have to guard a house or beg or shake paws or fetch trifles or be clean or anything similarly meaningless to earn their food.
They were servile and sycophantic when hungry;once fed,and before sleep, they wagged their tails perfunctorily whenever their hosts passes,as an investment for future meals.
A stray dog was free,he slept a lot, barked unexpectedly and only when he wanted to,and got a lot of sex

…maybe yes…maybe no…maybe I don’t know.
The mind is restless, o Krishna.

English looked for happiness in living more than one life, and had failed, but with such grace !!!

IIM Calcutta - the land of seven lakes

This photo was taken at 2:30 am on the eve of the StratMan (Strategic Management) end term exam. The blue lines are because of US Dash's camera which was switched on (when he walked past my camera).

(If u r searching for US in the photograph ... well, the exposure was set to 30 seconds and he 'vanished from the scene' immediately after providing the 'special effect'. )

The auditorium at IIM-Calcutta
( The poor orientation is because of the absence of a tripod :-(
and the sole resting place for the camera was a slanted inclined plane )

The Lake behind NH at 5am on the day of the OFD (Options, Futures & Derivatives) mid-term exam.
No color effect has been used

The same view on a late rainy evening. No color effects once again :-)

Hut besides NH lakes

Cost of missing the 4:30am university bus to the airport and taking ur own taxi instead - Rs 400
Taking this brilliant picture of the sunrise from inside the hut at 5:30 am - Priceless

New Hostel (my hostel) at 6 in the morning.

The 'Howrah Bridge'

Srisailam - Spring of 2005

This is not a futuristic bike with a transparent tyre.

The Srisailam Dam on the river Krishna. Nearby lies Nagarjunsagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve (NSTR) - the largest tiger reserve in India.
